5 minutes with… Shannon Lownds
What makes Carpenter Box Financial Advisers (CBFA) stand out from the rest is our people and their commitment to having great relationships with their clients, and with their colleagues.
In our ‘Five minutes with…’ series we meet some of the great team at Carpenter Box Financial Advisers. We posed various sets of questions to people across our firm to provide a glimpse into their lives and perspectives.
We catch up this week with Sales Support, Shannon Lownds!
Tell us about yourself:
I’m Shannon, I work within the Sales Support Team here at Carpenter Box Financial Advisers. I primarily work at the Worthing office where I can be regularly found supporting local businesses.
I was born in Cambridgeshire but moved to Worthing when I was 1 and have been living here since. After leaving school I went straight to work gaining experience in various types of jobs before finding my place within the Financial Services industry.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
I couldn’t live without music! Life would be dull without some form of creativity and music is my creative hobby. I started teaching myself piano at the age of 10 and it has remained a much-loved hobby to this day. It helps to relieve any stress, but can also help me focus and is a great motivator.
Outside of work, what keeps you busy?
I am a very spontaneous individual but my favourite pastime would be PC gaming. Growing up with just brothers I ended up with the same hobbies as them, so from a young age we have always played video games which in turn has grown a competitive nature within me. As my partner is also into gaming it seemed only natural to continue as it is something we both enjoy and can do together. We make an excellent team!
I also love to cook food, being a big foody myself I wanted to make delicious home-cooked dinners to enjoy. When it comes to cooking I really like making comfort food, the type of food that feels like a hug after a long day.
What are your ambitions whilst working at Carpenter Box Financial Advisers?
I feel very lucky with the role I have secured at CBFA, and would like to advance my career – whilst it is early I’m keen to learn as much as possible to be a supportive member of staff and team member using my already gained experience and combining it with my role here.
