Support for Dementia with the Society of Later Life Advisers
SOLLA was formed in 2008 with the aim of promoting and raising awareness of the financial issues faced in retirement and later life. In particular these can involve the consequences of having to pay for care for a loved one when they need to move into care, often due to a diagnosis of Dementia.
The Society aims to raise standards in financial advice and is keen to ensure that clients are advised with empathy and understanding as well as technical excellence. SOLLA advisers understand that clients are often trying to make crucial financial decisions at a time when emotions can be running high, and can help to clearly explain the way forward.
The Society has also built relationships with charities, housing and social care providers and this enables SOLLA advisers to be able to signpost clients to experts where they have needs other than financial advice.
SOLLA also contributes to the debate on social care policy and frequently comments on the impact on families of the huge cost of care.
Gill Lynes is a SOLLA accredited adviser, which means she has the skills and experience of working with, and understanding the needs of, older people, their families and carers. It is widely recognised as the Gold Standard in later life financial advice and provides the reassurance she can offer practical guidance and help you to make the right decisions at the right time.
